The BCIT Confucius Institute provides market-driven programs and services that serve the needs of the local community and promote cultural and business ties for economic development between China and Canada.

The Confucius Institute is mandated to promote cultural exchange, economic and business development, international trade, Chinese language, and commercial cooperation between Canada and China through programs and courses for Canadian people and corporations intending to do business with China.

Our Goal

The Confucius Institute is the:

Platform for promoting economy, trade, tourism, and business between Canada and China

Window for mainstream Canadians to learn about China and the Chinese culture

Service Provider to Canadian corporations that are currently doing or intend to do business with China

Resource Centre for local professionals teaching Chinese languages as a second language

Course Development Centre for pragmatic courses suitable for British Columbia.
